A Cat Actor, Orangey, in Breakfast At Tiffany’s Owes his Trainer a Lot
Tiffany Cat – Do you remember the orange tabby cat in Breakfast at Tiffany’s? Poor cat, Orangey, once was thrown by Audrey, later picked up by her and sandwiched at the end. What a calamity! But in real life, he won two Patsy Awards (Picture Animal Top Star of the Year, an animal actor’s version of an Oscar). What do we call someone (some cat) like him nowadays? Celebrity, indeed. And who was behind his success?
POINT BREEZE KINGDOM – AFTERNOON
A Cat Actor
Johnny and Servant H are watching a movie
Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Why is this lady eating croissant in front of the window?
Oh, she’s an imaginative woman who wants to be rich enough to eat at Tiffany. Well, I don’t think Tiffany serve you something to eat, though.
Is this croissant good as Trader Joe’s’?
That’s what I don’t know of. Oh, by the way, it’s not croissant but Danish which Audrey didn’t like at all for its fattening quality.
Now Audrey is at her apartment on a screen.
I wonder why she wears an eye mask when she goes to sleep?
Oh, it’s to make her look cute. She’s very slick, but she’s pure, too.
You know her well.
I can feel sympathy for her.
In what way?
In every way. She takes really good care of herself, and knows how she looks in men’s eyes. Anyone who comes in contact with her falls for her charm and ends up being at mercy of her. Overall, she loves good food and a clean comfortable bed.
You are saying it right. Sounds just like yourself, your majesty…
Thanks for the compliment.
You are totally welcome, your majesty. Now if you keep your noble mouth closed for a little…
Oh, I was about to tell you how much you look noble and attractive as well as Audrey Hepburn in this movie. Well, there it is your furry friend!
Orangey is on the screen soaked badly in rain.
Look at him! He was forced to get off the cab and now he’s soaked! Poor boy!! She has no mercy!!!
Please calm down, your majesty. He’s a professional actor and he got paid for it. Which means he eats real good food.
Frank Inn: Pioneering Animal Trainer Behind Tiffany Cat
Oh la la!
Inn is Orangey’s animal trainer. He was responsible for Orangey’s acting. I could imagine his hardships he had to go through to make Orangey acting.
Whoever come up with the thought to make cats acting, he should be crazy.
I couldn’t agree with you more. But that’s why he was a pioneer in his field. He didn’t make them acting, but he was a superb communicator with not just only a cat, but many other animals as well. He turned many animals into
Really, how he came to
making animal stars?
Inn set his mind to be successful in Hollywood. He started working as a maintenance man, but he got struck by a drunken driver.
Seriously injured, he was even taken to the morgue. One of the embalming student found Inn was still warm on the last minute.
We can say this was his turning point. Turned out he was not dead but alive, still he had to go through a lengthy recovering period. One of his friend gave him a puppy to keep him company for that time period. This dog called
Jeep and he became Inn’s first trained animal.
Since then, Inn trained thousands of animals — from snakes to camels to chimpanzees — for TV and film. And the rest is history.
If you can train a cat, you truly are genius.
No doubt about it.
