1. What is Curiosity

POINT BREEZE KINGDOM – LATE MORNING
Johnny crouches down and looks something under the refrigerator for a long while.
What are you doing, your majesty?
Shh. Don’t distract my focus!
Oh sorry. But what you are looking down there?
Servant H lowered her voice.
I’ve been looking down here if there are any creatures reside in this darkness.
Johnny kept staring at the darkness under the fridge.
I’m afraid to say, but I don’t think there is any living thing under the fridge, your majesty.
Have you searched the back yourself?
Johnny asked without turning his head to H.
No.
Then how you can conclude there is nothing underneath?
H frowns in bewilderment.
No way…
You see? Let me keep watching and I would give you a report if I found anything.
Ok, your majesty.
Sometime later…
Servant H comes in the kitchen again.
Have you found anything… Your Majesty?
H looked around and found Johnny on top of the fridge lying on his stomach up there.
Oh, you are over there. Thought you were on watch for a while?
Johnny looks down on H with narrowing his eyes.
H, you don’t have to stick with the thing you first started. I’m experimenting how the quality of sleep differs at each different spot. Please don’t distract my focus on napping…
Curiosity sometimes looks childish and that is the essence of it. Children don’t take anything for granted. They see everything with fresh eyes. Eyes full of sparkle and anticipation. Cats are exactly the same way. They would watch you with amazement, even if you think you are doing daily chores. Willing to try something new and exploring uncharted territory without fear.
Curious people never get bored because they are good at finding something new at any moment where people with less curiosity find ordinary
.
2. Why Curiosity Matters

Johnny hangs onto the small window to look at something.
What you doing up there, your majesty?
Thought I hunted a moth down, but he managed to escape!
Then, why don’t you come down?
I’ll be waiting here so I can get him as soon as he comes back.
He may not be coming back, your majesty. Your posture looks very tiring.
He may not be back, but other creatures might come through the tiny hole.
You are right. As you like, your majesty. Oh, there is another moth on that wall…
After a few seconds, Johnny jumped down on the floor and started running after the moth.
He knows no rest… Until he takes a nap.
Because it’s what makes us younger. Spark curiosity makes us feel fresh and keeps us lively. Think about the opposite value for the comparison. People with less curiosity tend to receive things on the face value and do not delve into it. They have a certain mindset which runs them like precise automated program. Actually, society needs people with more curiosity-driven mindset since they are the problem solver. They ask questions constantly and come up with a different perspective. Curious brains are better at learning as well.

H, H! Come here!
What’s the matter, your majesty?
Johnny is looking at the floor with keen eyes. There is a huge ant strolling around.
Ahh, here it is an aunt again. We have nothing to feed you, so would you get out, please?
H, they don’t understand your language. It’s no use trying to persuade them.
Well. I know, your majesty. Still, we gotta take some procedure to let him out. You can take care of him, your majesty. You are a cat!
H, I have my own taste as well. Being a cat doesn’t make me gobble down anything moving around.
So you are telling me aunt is not on your plate of delicacy?
No. Not at all. You know I tried to nibble them down because you two made me take care of it, you never know how it tastes. Yuk! Instead, we can watch him and locate where he intruded to our kingdom.
I’m with you!
Some may have born with genes related to inquisitive
nature.
But it is the easiest part. Whenever you find yourself feeling bored, it’s a great chance to gear up things.
