Meow! Cats have Amazing Varieties of Vocal Sounds to Communicate
Meow! Cat facts you don’t know about “Meow”. The fact is there is not only one “Meow”. Cats have more than hundred of vocal sounds they can convey. They rarely use their vocal ability when there are only cats around. Adult cats “meow” only when they talk to humans. They developed them to communicate with humans. Each cat has each sound patterns to get their humans to understand them. And when they open the conversation, who can ignore them?
LATE MORNING – OFFICE
Johnny’s looking out the window laying on the black box in front of the window.
Hmm, I’m trying to write something but not a word comes up. Nothing pops up, it’s worse than a glass of flat beer.
You don’t drink beer.
Well, that’s not the point, your majesty. You don’t ever understand my suffering from looking at a blank screen.
As soon servant H said that, Johnny puts his attention somewhere and climb down the stairs.
Johnny came back at the office where H is.
Johnny looks at H and says something.
Meow.
H doesn’t reply.
Meow!
H turns around from her laptop and faces Johnny.
Your majesty, please say things the way we can understand you.
So I said it.
What you have just told me?
Oh, I come up with a good solution for your problem. You quit trying to write and stop suffering.
What?! Why I have to stop? I want to write.
Want is not nearly enough as I can see. And apparently just “wanting” led you nowhere. I’m not saying stop writing, but suggesting you stop “trying to write”.
Points are taken. But it’s not that easy, your majesty.
It’s that easy. If you enjoy or can’t help but writing, you are writing anyway. Just write.

Abyssinian Johnny sits on the floor
You are more than right.
Johnny meows as he seems confident with his remark.
Now I can understand what you are meowing about. You are proud of yourself.
Right! You got me really good. You go girl, H!
H smiles faintly.
Why don’t you take a break and do something else for a change?
That’s a good idea, your majesty. What we gonna do?
How about a vocal game?
What’s that?
I do different kinds of meow, actually I have more than hundred vocal sounds. I meow and you answer what I mean. OK?
Oh, that’s cool. Let’s do it.
So, give me your first meow!
Johnny stretches around his mouth.
Meeeow.

Abyssinian Johnny
H takes a moment to think, then answer.
That’s when you want to play, right?!
You have a good ear! Now next. Meooooow.
Hmm, that has to be when you feel boring and you just want some attention, yes?
Goodness! You read my mind to the point you got me scared.
H smiles so big.
Now, what about this? MEOW!
Ah, that’s an easy one. You beg me to feed yo…, oops! You tell me the time when you have your noble meal time.
What did you say earlier? Well. Anyway, you are right! Now the last one. Meowwww.
H tries to figure out his intention behind “meowwww”…
Could you repeat that again, your majesty?
Ok, ahem.
Johnny clears up his throat and says
Meowwww.
H still has no clue about this one.
I give up, your majesty. I can’t interpret anything from your “meowwww”.
That’s too bad. Neither do I.
Your Majesty?!
Don’t think there’s a meaning in what I say, H. I utter meaningless thing just like you, you know?

Abyssinian Johnny twists his body
The kind like you talk to yourself?
Yeah. Still, you want to be heard by somebody near you. You do that all the time.
Mmmmmm!! Sometimes your meow is difficult to understand.
That’s because I have more than hundred vocal…
I know that part, your majesty. But I think we can narrow down the main meow meanings into four categories.
Meow?
Exactly. You meow when you want to eat, play. And when you want attention and want to go to the toilet.
Well, that may be true. However, I add more depth, varieties of tone to make you entertained! Hence the hundred. Meow!
Is that right? That’s why not a few times it’s not easy to catch your meaning like I don’t have an idea what you are talking about.
You are absolutely right. Just like I told you, sometimes I just mumble which means nothing. I can say there’s a time I just want to meow!
